Catching up

I can't believe August is over already. This month has been, well fast. I've sort of been procrastinating on the posting because of everything that has been going on and it was hard to write about so I just didn't . But I know it's time to get back to blogging and back to things.

So the month started off pretty bad. As I think all of my readers know, John's dad passed away very suddenly and it was quite a shock to all of us. I was up at my wine convention at the time, it happened on a Friday night and I got the call when I came out of dinner. My mom immediately started driving up to get me, I know a little crazy but I really wanted to be home. I had driven two other wine consultants, and I didn't want to strand them in Boston and also didn't want to make the drive myself. Fortunately my cousin Dee was able to get me from Boston to Shrewsbury so that helped a lot. My mom got to my uncle's house at about 1 am and we were back in Hamden by about 3:30. After 3 hours of sleep I headed over to John's moms and we spent a good portion of the coming week there.

Everything went by so fast, and the support all of our friends and familly showed was amazing. Thanks to all of you for everything you did. I know that John and I , his mom and his brothers and sister really appreciate it.

Here are a few photos of Poppy from our recent Disney trip. One of the things I realized is there are never enough photos.

So what else is going on? As you can tell by my ticker I am now 20 weeks along. Movement has started which is pretty cool. Not a whole lot of movement yet, but it's there and I feel it at least once a day. Tuesday will be our big ultrasound and we are hoping to find out the gender, so keep your fingers crossed the Lil Bitty Schmitty #2 cooperates! If he/she is anything like his/her older sister, we won't be finding out.

Molly is almost 2. Do I need to say more? As Katherine says, she has one speed and it is "Run!" Her vocabulary is taking off more and more each day, stringing together multiple words and you can almost always figure out what she is saying or what she wants. Along with that comes tantrums because she knows what she wants, and can't always have it. Like cookies for breakfast. I am so mean.

We also went up to New Hampshire in August and had a great time. We lost some of our photos because our memory card died but do have a few and are hoping to get some more from my mom. Here are some highlights:

And finally, all 10 of the cousins at Ethan's christening last weekend:
