Welcome to my blog! I live in CT with my wonderful husband and children. We got married in August 2005. Our first child, Molly, was born on Halloween 2006. Jack was born on Inauguration Day, January 20, 2009. I was fortunate to take 15 months off when Molly was born but was back in the professional working world for the past 4+ years. Now I am back at home, and figuring it out.

A joke
Giving up Wine
I was walking down the street when I was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless woman who asked me for a couple of dollars for dinner.
I took out my wallet, got out ten dollars and asked, "If I give you this money, will you buy wine with it instead of dinner?"
"No I had to stop drinking years ago", the homeless woman told me.
"Will you use it to go shopping instead of buying food?" I asked.
"No, I don't waste time shopping," the homeless woman said. "I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive."
"Will you spend this on a beauty salon instead of food?" I asked.
"Are you NUTS !" replied the homeless woman. " I haven't had my hair done in 20 years!"
"Well," I said, "I'm not going to give you the money. Instead, I'm going to take you out for dinner with my husband and me tonight."
The homeless Woman was shocked. "Won't your husband be furious with you for doing that? I know I'm dirty, and I probably smell pretty disgusting."
I said, "That's okay. It's important for him to see what a woman looks like after she has given up shopping, hair appointments, and wine."

We're sick
Happy New Year everyone! We started the new year kind of rough. Molly started with a little cough and felt a little warm last Sunday. But she is also getting more teeth, so didn't think much of it. So off to my mom's we went to visit with my aunts and uncles. I had some tasty meatballs and no sooner did I finish eating when I had some horrible stomach cramps..emptied my stomach and ...laid in my mother's bed for an hour rather than visiting.
I felt better the next day, Molly was still a little warm but not overly fussy. So we went out New Year's and she stayed with Grammy and Poppy. She had a wonderful time and so did we! It was so nice to sleep until 9:40 in the morning.
Wednesday morning Molly woke up with a fever of 101.3 and the cough was getting worst. She was pretty miserable Wednesday but Thursday seemed to be getting better until the evening when her fever shot up again. So when she still had a fever Friday morning I took her to the doc. Poor little Molly had an ear infection on both sides and signs of pneumonia. I feel so bad for her but she is on the mend. The wonders of ammoxicillin. We made it 14 months with no antibiotics, pretty impressive. Hopefully she doesn't continue to get sick once she is in daycare, but I guess it is inevitable.
So she's getting better but I have a sore throat and I'm hoping it's not strep. Yuck. I haven't had it in a few years, I'm probably due.
Good things going on? I got a new laptop! Woohoo! Now I can play on the internet in the living room...maybe that means I'll update my blog more often.
I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you :).
